As a parish family, through the power of the Holy Spirit, we will work to build God's Kingdom by creating opportunities for our parishioners, our community and our visitors, to encounter Jesus in a life-changing way, to set their hearts on fire with His love and to challenge them to become fully engaged disciples.
The Ministry of Hospitality is an important ministry of the Christian community. Ministers of Hospitality are the first face of the parish. They greet those coming into the Eucharistic Celebration at the parish, offering assistance to those in need, distributing parish bulletins, taking up the collection and distributing other materials as needed.
This ministry is a labor of love. Whether serving as a greeter, an usher or both, you play an important role in creating a warm welcoming space for all who come. As a Minister of Hospitality, you are the voice of welcome and the first person to greet our sisters and brothers in Christ. You present the face of Christ as you extend the warmth of Christian Hospitality to all.
Ushers are particularly attentive ministers who supervise the periphery of the sanctuary before, during and after Mass. They help members of the assembly find appropriate seating on special occasions such as Christmas Eve, including showing participants where they can stand when the seating areas are full. They also collect the proceeds from the Offertory and assure that those who are presenting the gifts in the Offertory Procession have the correct gifts to carry up in the procession.
This is an important and highly regarded ministry that assures the smooth and appropriate conduct of the people during the Eucharistic Celebrations.
